The words extremist and fanatic are useful titles. They generally describe someone who adheres to an idea with uncritical zeal who also advocates and resorts to measures beyond normal means to show or support it. Proponents of opposing sides of many issues use these terms to describe certain of the more outspoken members of opposite ideologies. It seems in the this case these terms have been hijacked to describe someone who is simply an outspoken personality. I wonder what the difference is …
