Why is it people like you are threatened by those of us who proclaim Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior?

No the laws are not governing the Christian belief. If that were so, then why have those who don't believe in God or prayer won in the courtrooms?

In some areas of America, people can't display the Nativity scene any more because it offends those that pass by them. Churches can't display the cross any more, because it offends those that pass by.

This country was founded on the Holy Bible. Even though it states "Holy Scripture" in the Constitution. Now they are questioning which "Holy Scriptures".

When this nation allowed a member of Congress to be sworn in on the Quran this past January, it as made a great huge statement that this country will become Muslim in the government. They teach the Quran in some colleges, next it will be taught in our grade schools. Yet not one of our public schools can have the Bible in the library.

Before God can help America, America needs to turn from her wicked ways. Over the last 20 years America has fallen, she's falling faster now then ever before.

If you think we as Christians are not getting persecuted for our belief here in America, you must be blind.

"Christians are increasingly being driven from public life, denied their First Amendment rights, and even actively discriminated against for their beliefs." http://www.apostle1.com/10-24-2005-christians_persecuted.htm

---------------Edit

For over 230 years it was the Bible that they swore on when taking any office seat. Now in the 21st Century we have those that are wanting to rewrite our Constitution... they come for foreign lands that have attacked the United States, and you call yourself an American? They are getting their ways every day by people like you allowing them to bring their ways to our land.

There was a town in Illinois that told them to remove the Navtity scene from the Plaza. Here read the article where the Officals state they don't want to favor any ONE religion. However, it was not until this period of time.. it ever came up. http://www.newsvine.com/_news/2006/11/27/459669-nativity-booted-from-ill-holiday-fair

"TVC Publishes Report On Anti-Christian ACLU
July 30, 2004 – The American Civil Liberties Union is on an anti-Christian campaign to remove all Christian symbols from public display.

The current effort to remove any vestige of Christianity from public life began back in the 1920s when the ACLU first gained political power in the United States. Its founder, Roger Baldwin, was a Unitarian socialist who supported Joseph Stalin and whose close friends included leaders of the Communist Party, USA, including a Soviet spy.

While attacking Christian symbols, the ACLU has also defended pornographers, child molesters, and homosexuals who wish to adopt children.

The head of the ACLU is Anthony Romero who took over leadership in 2001. Romero is described on the ACLU web site as an "openly gay" man. He formerly worked for the Ford Foundation where he funneled $90 million to leftist causes including anti-war, pro-abortion, homosexual, immigration reform, and feminist organizations.

TVC’s new report, "The ‘Anti-Christian’ Civil Liberties Union" describes the history and current objectives of the ACLU to strip our nation of its Christian heritage—and to defend the enemies of traditional morality." http://www.earstohear.net/aclu.html

I find that as a christian i am offended by the majority of Christians in the United states. It is true that all over the world our brothers are being slaughtered daily, because they are actually doing something, instead of wining about a permissive secular society. It is very true that we treat others like they are less than us because most of us are horribly arrogant. I have a friend that told me he was being pushed away from Christianity because of all the arrogant legalistic people inside the church. We need to get off our religious butts and do something productive for god, so that we actually have room to complain.
References :
Not everyone lives in America, you know. Why do you assume that every Christian talking about persecution hails from the USA?
As for your comment about persecution in other countries,I would like to see your statistics proving that 120,000 thousand atheists are martyred for their non-faith every year.
Those who are in the USA,I imagine that some Christians are not feeling too great when people keep calling them 'delusional' and 'idiotic' and certain events that indicate discrimination against their faith, where others are tolerated and even celebrated.
Since I am not from the USA,I cannot guarantee that my views on discrimination there are correct. They are merely observations from news items and commentary from my overseas friends.
References :
This is quite amusing to me.

They very same people such as yourself would claim this country was NOT founded on such Christian beliefs.

When a Christian talks about persecution he/she should say ELIMINATION of our beliefs.

One nation under God . . . . . not Budda or Mohammed
Prayer before Congressional meetings . . . . . . .Prayer to whom?
Swearing on a Bible when taking an office . . . . . . . not the Holy Koran or The Book of Mormon.

I find it quite amusing to sit and read that "laws of the country are geared towards [my] beliefs". You in a nut shell have made my argument for me.

God Bless
References :
You are right, if they don't have the dominance over things, then they see it as persecution. If any other faith gets the spotlight for a moment, they consider that to be persecution. If they aren't allowed to push their beliefs, they consider that to be persecution.

As for sending them to Muslim countries, I've been there, and they aren't persecuted there in the way the West may imagine. They live side by side there with Muslims.

Christians should make friends with people of other religions. Let these people tell the Christians what it's really like. Let these Christians actually witness a Muslim's life, a Jew's life, a Buddhist's life, etc.
References :
I've been persecuted from time to time for not being a Christian. I'm a Bahá'í.

jesus was persecuted (in the story at least) and much of the literature is about overcoming this adversity, so christians kind of get off on being victims and some would argue they make themselves or play the victim in emulation of the story and culture they utilize.

This leads to the christian work ethic where they think that the harder something is the better it's rewards should or would be. They look for struggle and hard times. Where the rational thought would be that doing the same work easier would be better but no the christians want to suffer and through this suffering earn thier way.
References :
They tell us all that the highly moral, deeply religious, prayerful Buddhist is going to hell, they call his ancient religion a cult, they tell him that God ignores his prayers. They tell us that God ignores the prayers of the deeply religious Jew and that he and his entire family are going to hell just for being Jewish. They tell us that anyone who believes in evolution is a atheist. Heck, many of them even tell us that anyone who doesn't believe in talking serpents is an atheist.

Then they wonder why people challenge them here.

Yes, I know. Not all Christians say these things. But those that do are the ones that get challenged. And they are the ones that do most of the whining about being persecuted.
