I am an atheist and …
I am an atheist and I know what god is.

God is the imaginary entity who made everything. God is the answer for every question. If you don’t know how something is done don’t waste time learning, experimenting, and proving just slap a “God did it” tag on it and go play golf. I know god I just don’t understand why people say it is real.

    Without knowing …
Without knowing what god is.. One is an non-believer, aka atheist..

Just as you may not know what Russel’s Teapot, The Invisible Pink Unicorn nor the Spaghetti Monster is.. Thus, you cannot believe in them..
    ___
Atheism is a belief of nothing..
Theism is a belief in something..

So for someone to be theist, one have to know..
    ___
    Atheism = 0
    Theism = 1

Without the knowledge of the concept god, one remains on ones starting point.. Aka “0″..

    Hope that helped! ;)

    Also.. One can be …
Also.. One can be fully agnostic when it comes to theism.. Huxley (the man that coined the term) was fully agnostic, he believed that the probablity of god existing was 50%.. He tried his best to define himself as one, but it turns out that when he tried to logically explain why there was a 50% chance of either atheism or theism he contradicted himself..

    You can’t be an …
You can’t be an agnostic-atheist and be gnostic about the abrahamic gods..

The first term describes that you cannot fully know 100% that god does not exist, because he is (supposedly) non-material, omni-present (contradiction XD).. And cannot be disproven along with Russel’s Teapot..

    So as a believer, I …
So as a believer, I dont get offended or altered when I see all sorts of “God” mockery or “blasphemous challenges” on a ENTERTAINMENT webpage such as YOUTUBE. Instead I feel pity and quite amazed that those who seek the truth are still running in circles, running after primitive notions and attributes of “God” that evidently are signs* of ignorance, stupidity and lack of knowledge.

    Its amusing to see …
Its amusing to see every1′s depiction of God, and how He should be or shouldn’t etc

Two major problems for both believers and non-believers is that you all GENERALIZE.

Its silly how the majority of the athiests depict God as a “bearded man in the sky”, and then start their so-called “rational-rants” against him. When they say, there is no man up in the sky with a huge beard, I would have to AGREE. just for the simple reason that “God” was portrayed in such artistic manner by MICHAELANGELO

    So if an agnostic …
So if an agnostic lacks knowledge for what a “god’ even is…Then they obviously don’t believe (positively)..making them a non believer.

    Atheism is a …
Atheism is a byproduct of agnosticism. Or better yet …”Atheist” is just a label. It’s not even a positive statement. It can’t be, because there is no coherent, or verifiable definition for the “god”. Atheism in nothing but a label. If you don’t know what “god” is then you don’t believe in it. THere for you will be labled a nontheist. (atheist) Theism is the positive statement.

    Me? meh, the …
Me? meh, the typical religions protestant/catholic system seems as good (or bad) as any other. No system of morals seems to hold up under stress unless it’s backed up by force or the threat of it. I have a personal code I have developed based on my ancestor’s honor codes and religious beliefs (not just Christian). as for evil being a problem, the problem is inside us, not, the creator. My answer: learn to be at peace with yourself and the world the way it is, it hasn’t changed and won’t.

    But if you *don’t …
But if you *don’t know* what to believe? Then you can neither call yourslef a Theist or an Atheist, but simply an Agnostic.

Hey laazzzee, simple straight forward question…………when you hear the word “God”, what comes to your mind????

    I was asking …
I was asking Kingmike40 that. Anyway, I don’t think there is such a thing as “good and evil”. I just think that what we do is based on human nature and environment, and that I do what I do for survival and because it makes me happy.

I don’t think there’s any extra logical reasoning behind morals/values. I just live my life the way I see fit really.

So what about you? Do tell if you wouldn’t mind.

Were you raised Atheist? I was raised Catholic, but then became Agnostic. My parents came to that mindset as well eventually.

    If atheism is the …
If atheism is the lack of belief, I do not understand how gnostic atheism would be considered dogmatic. It seems like that would be saying strong atheists have a belief in not believing.

Very well stated. I once considered myself an Agnostic until I read a post on the Rational Response Squad’s website a few years ago explaining this exact concept you take on in this video. My fence sitting days were over at that point.

    I consider myself …
I consider myself an atheist because I was born that way and haven’t found anything to change my mind. I have researched christianity for the past 3 years, give or take, and I haven’t found any backbone to the belief. If you look up belief you will find that it means opinion. I am not interested in running my life based on somebody’s opinion.
