I too am a high level science educator.
Some comments:
A lot of people are not intellectuals, let alone smart enough to control their own lives.
Religion has been an opiate (eg Marx reference).
There are also cultural, ethnic and political aspects.
They would not grasp your arguments.
On the other hand, prove God/gods don’t exist………………eg even Budhism professes all is God (ie from a tau meason to a black hole).
