Some Buddhist …
Some Buddhist schools have developed some degree of polytheism but this isnt in the Buddhas original teachings. As for the clarification on the Islamic view of the word i still dont think you could call us buddhists polytheistc however we dont worship the Buddha (or the statues) in any sense, we show respect and have the statues to remind us of what is possible to achieve through the practice (some of us anyway, some buddhists do worship etc)

a mushrik (polytheist) in the islamic sence is someone who worships anyone besides Allah, gives attributes to someone which only belong to Allah. be it a rock or a tree, or anything or anyone. thus buddhists fit in this category.
there are still further things which can make you a polytheist.

Correct. It is common sense.
How simple is that. Jesus is the messenger of God as were moses, abraham, noah, adam, and all the other messengers that are sent. Jesus preached exactly the same message as the previous prophets. By claiming Jesus is son of God is like saying a bumble bee is the son of a man named Joe bloggs.
It is completely irrationale and i hope that christians can see it.
