Einstein also …
Einstein also believed in “Spinoza’s God who reveals himself in the harmony of what exists.” Academics have to watch out for peer pressure and will often not state their spiritual convictions. A quote here-and-there demonstrates little.

I’m still waiting …
I’m still waiting for a quote from Sinatra. To be an atheist, he sings more CHRISTmas songs than Jewish Barbra Streisand…hAHA

Dulcia: For that past 2 months, yanker throws quotes to combat quotes to see who wins the debate. Looks like YOU won along time ago withOUT a quote (lol). Besides, I’d rather see a quote from Frank Sinatra, Katherine Hepburn, Shirley McClaine, or Jodie Foster…LMAO!

Please could someone explain to me the different of believing in a god that in no ways interacts with your life, asks for worship etc etc. And simply not believing in any god? It’s really a moot point that has no bearing on any part of there lives.

LOL! That’s the best one so far!
So I think you can now see for yourself that the world is full of forged Einstein’s quotes (not only his of course), that’s why one has to be careful when choosing his sources..
I don’t know why believers are so furiously trying to make Einstein one of them, when there are lots of other scientists (even physicist) who actually were/are Christians..

Unquestionably!No …
Unquestionably! No one can read the Gospels without feeling the actual presence of Jesus. His personality pulsates in every word. No myth is filled with such life.” (Einstein, when asked about the historical existence of Jesus Christ, as cited in Viereck 1929 and in the German magazine Geisteskampf der Gegenwart, Guetersloh, 1930, S. 235).
thought u’d find that interesting

Nice try, just as …
Nice try, just as the attempt at proving that Einstein was a believer by quoting his famous “God doesn’t play dice with the Universe.”.
This is Einstein’s metaphor that he used quite often. God means Universe, Nature or Laws of Nature.
Besides you ONCE again used a quote that is not directly from Einstein himself. In 1973 he was long dead to defend his position (though I believe this one may be authentic). Show me a letter where he says something similar. And with a context if at all possible.

“I want to know how …
“I want to know how God created this world. I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts, the rest are details.” –(Einstein, Albert 1955, as cited in Ronald Clark, Einstein: The Life and Times, London, Hodder and Stoughton Ltd., 1973, p.33).
is that good enough?

I already told you. …
I already told you. So WHAT that he was a Deist? It is nothing like a theist! In fact it is almost the very opposite. Still, to prove he was a Deist you have to provide a quote where he says, that he believes the Universe was created by a god. Find that and I’ll admit my error. Otherwise it’s all just wordplay.
OK. We have 2 sources here.
1. Some guy who says “This is what Einstein said”
2. Einsteins letters.
Which one do you pick do be more reliable. My choice is clear…

Walter Isaacson’s …
”He subsequently became a lecturer there and a close colleague of Albert Einstein at Princeton University.” –wikipedia
Walter Isaacson’s biography of Einstein clearly shows him as a Deist, who believed in a superior reasoning Intelligence as being responsible for Nature/Universe. scholarly, well-composed biography vs. ur opinion? hmmm..
look up Max Jammer on Wiki to find out why u should trust him
ur own atheist Hitchens agreed to this as well. sorry, who lost?? …goodnight

Please gnm545 stop …
Please gnm545 stop this. You have already lost the battle and now even Einstein as a deist is good for you? This vid is called Famous atheists and DEISTS for a reason, so whats your point again?
Besides he WAS a Pantheist:
“I believe in Spinoza’s God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists, not in a God who concerns himself with the fates and actions of human beings.”
- Albert Einstein, responding to Rabbi Herbert: Has Science Found God?
“Spinoza’s God = Pantheist god”

“Your completely …
“Your completely wrong twice, Einstein was not a theist. He most certainly was a Deist, who believed in a God who did not intervene in human affairs, who did not answer prayers, who didn’t concern himself with the fate of human beings.” –Christopher Hitchens (atheist) during a debate at King’s College, addressed to Dinesh D’souza, Oct. 24, 2007

“It seems to me …
“It seems to me that the idea of a personal God is an anthropological concept which I cannot take seriously. I also cannot imagine some will or goal outside the human sphere…. [..] Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.”
- Albert Einstein, “Religion and Science,” New York Times Magazine, November 9, 1930

“The word god is …
“The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this. ”
Letter to philosopher Eric Gutkind (by Einstein himself), January 3, 1954

And this one is …
And this one is nothing new either. It’s all either taken out of context (Einstein used god as a synonym of Laws of nature or something that is unknown) or it’s purely a fabrication or misquotation. The same holds true for this one.
I don’t understand why I should trust some “Max Jammer”, when there are tons of quotes by Einstein himself that clearly state that he was an atheist/pantheist?

“I’m not an atheist …
“I’m not an atheist and i don’t think I can call myself a panthiest. The problem involved is too vast for our limited minds. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written… That is the attitude of the most intelligent human toward God.” (Einstein and Religion by Max Jammer, Princeton University Press)

I think someone …
I think someone already “tried” this “quote” here somewhere in the comments. Unfortunately (for you) this quote is fake. Every reliable source of Einsteins quotes makes it clear that he was an atheist/pantheist. As a matter of fact from these reliable quotes it’s also obvious that he was “angry” when he was used by theists to promote their silly, primitive superstition..
