As I said, Muslims believe that the absolute justice of Allah will prevail.

So, if it was just a trial for the victim/their family, so be it. You can’t know what really occurred in the mind of the murdurer, whether he actually was sane/insane. Medical opinion is just that, opinion (granted in the light of experience – but human experience cannot compare to God knowing everything). If he was insane, well we also believe satan tempts us too. Trials in life are chances to shine/have hope. Peace.
