If you're a Christian, what is your biggest problem with Atheism? I mean the concept of Atheism, not Atheists as people. Why can't you accept that not everyone in the world is going to believe your faith, and that there are numerous flaws within scripture and religious concept that gives people doubts?
Alternatively, if you're an Atheist, what is your biggest problem with Christianity (or religion in general)? What makes you unable to admit there is a possibility of at least some religious theory being true?
I'm Agnostic and I often see people going off on such extreme absolutes (both ways), I'm just wondering if there's any room for questioning in it.
I call myself Agnostic instead of Atheist because I have not seen any evidence to either side of the spectrum. There is of course no evidence that there is a God out there, but there is also no way of concretely knowing there isn't without dying and experiencing what happens for yourself.
Yet mythological creatures such as Mermaids are within our scope to prove whether or not they exist. There is also nothing to say that there may be some as-of-yet discovered creature that may have been construed as such a thing in times past.
I am being rational and respectful to both sides. Attacking my views is quite rude and only further proves my original point that people seem to have actual problems with those who don't believe as they do.
My biggest problem with all religions is the need for them to be "the one, true, only way". I'm sorry but logic tells me that it cannot be true that just because 1 billion Chinese do not believe as you do that none will be worthy of heaven, none will be good people. The exclusionary nature of religion, and the plethora of religons out there tells me, no one has the answer.

"Self-Centered Pride" on the atheists part!

Christians: Lack of logic, reasoning, and common sense.
Agnostics: Most agnostics are people that are too intellectually lazy to pick a side, and I just can't have respect for someone that can't even defend what they believe.

None, live and let live. I know a lot of people on this section have a problem with that.

"Why can't you accept that not everyone in the world is going to believe your faith…"
I do accept that. Seems that atheists often can't say the same to theists.
My biggest problem with atheism is probably the attitude some of them display. They're not smarter than theists for rejecting religion.

I'm a christian and i think my biggest problem with the atheist belief is that most of them [hate to make generalizations but..] won't be open to anything new. at all. they think it's their way or no way and aren't very open minded. very stuck in their ways. im not saying some christians aren't like that but that's what ive found with atheists/

I can and do accept that some people will not believe my faith. I try to tell them about the love of God and answer their questions because I know that if they do not believe, they will not be with God in Heaven. I don't do this to try to prove myself right or to 'convert unbelievers', but I do it to give them an opportunity to save themselves.
I have yet to find a single flaw in scripture. There are some things that seem (key word: seem) to contradict itself, but it's all about the context and the message conveyed.

nutbars;
the Christian nutbar sect actually CAN'T accept that not everyone in the world is going to believe them, and the Atheist nutbars think it's tres chic (and all grown up) to claim that they are above all spirituality.
those of us in the middle, the honest Christians and Atheists know what we think, and why we think it. Defeating the other side is not part of the agenda . . .

I find "agnostic" to be a puzzling label, since atheists don't claim to *know* that what we believe is true. Atheists say, there is no evidence, therefore I do not *believe.* I said nothing about impossibility. The Bible stories, however, have been thoroughly debunked.
There is also no evidence of mermaids or centaurs. So why god (s) are more plausible to someone is something I don't understand.

I have no idea at all why you perceive my genuine views as an attack on you. Because I think you're totally wrong on several levels that means I'm attacking you? No, it means I'm debating and disagreeing with your views.
No. The existence of god (s) is no easier proved than mermaids. You are wrong. Again, that is my genuine view.
Anyway, if you only want someone to agree with your religious musings, then this site will be very disappointing. I know, you're being attacked from all sides. Poor you. I suggest yoga to help you lighten up.

Hello, I am a Southern Baptist reborn down here in Arkansas. I believe that Atheism is a sin against our Lord and Savior. God put the animals and the plants here in the earth for us humans, we should constantly worship God for these things and everything we have. Those Atheists are going to hell for their sin. They are mindless zombies which us Christians have to unite and exterminate like rodents. Those Atheists are the black sheep of this world. They don't know anything about anything. They are dumb for not believing in the Lord. Praise Jesus!
Amen!

My problem with atheism is that it is incoherent. One cannot consistently live out the logical entailments of atheism. Yeah, I know. I'm going to get thumbed down for this. But you did ask me what my problem with atheism is. Well, that's it. In the final analysis, atheism is nonsense. I happen not to like nonsense.
peace

Ask yourself why it is only Christians that get attacked and not the other religions?!!!!
Do you not recognise that Christians are provoking retaliation and repudiation for their terrible attitudes?!!
Perhaps if Christians stopped their intolerant, egotistical, hate filled and bigoted postings things might change!!
Perhaps if Christians stopped eschewing education, science, evolution works of fiction and much, much more things might change!!
Perhaps if Christians stopped being the only religion opposing human rights and persecuting gays, pro choice and so much more things might change!!
Perhaps if Christians stopped demanding freedom of religion whilst they deny it to all non Christians and persecute them things might change!! !!!
If Christians rediscovered the god of love and forgiveness and put aside all those terrible human emotions things would definitely change!!!!
Why are Christians so afraid of people who simply do not believe in any god?!!!! Surely it can only be because they are so afraid that atheist are right and they are wrong or it would not bother them!!!!!!
So please understand it is not about belief, God or Jesus but about the terribly BAD christian attitudes and conduct!!
As soon as Christians rediscover the loving god and start acting like it the problem will cease!!!!

I don’t believe in a supernatural being that watches us or cares what we do. If it is anything like the Christians say, why would something so powerful care about us? There are many more logical flaws in this belief. While it makes people feel good, and feel like they have a special purpose or meaning for their life, they are ultimately believing in a lie, something that makes no sense.

Religion: extremists using their religion as an excuse to murder innocent people
Atheism: arrogance, snobbery, thinking they’re smarter than everyone else when they’re just repeating arguments they’ve already heard
