Both can be fanatical about their beliefs.
I've seen Atheist rage bout how their belief in science is superior to religion and I've seen religious people rage that their beliefs are Superior to everything.
Do what thou will shall be the whole of the law.

they both have zealots
they cite the bible as the source of their belief

@ Matthew So I'm going to suffer in Hell eternally because I do not believe that God loves me? That makes no sense. Someone brought up a point like that recently on YA, and I thought I'd see how that argument is countered.

They both deny about the same number of gods. Though atheists just seem to be more accepting of alternate belief systems.

Both have an eternal destination.

The difference is where it is.

You will be eternally separated from God in a place called hell if you do not accept God's grace through faith in His Son, Jesus. All God does in the end with people is give them what they most want, including freedom from Himself.
