Okay, interesting debate you guys have going on here, but I just wanted to hop in with the fact that eye witness accounts are the worst forms of evidence in a court of law. Hundreds of psychological studies have been done to show that a witnesses account of an event is easily manipulated after the fact and that the witness will then be utterly convinced of the new data (a cop tells a witness that the car in the accident was blue when it was really red and the witness swears they saw a blue car)

I happen to agree with you, but debating that point with theists distracts from the more important aspect of the discussion, which is that a non-belief in God doesn’t mean you must dogmatically do anything. It simply means you won’t allow a religious leader or book to tell you what to do.

C’mon man, you don’t honestly believe that? If you don’t like the guy thats cool, but he supports the war in Iraq specifically because the majority of people over there have been ruled by a tyrant and despotic ruler who he wants to see removed. He supports the MAJORITY of people over there, so he certainly wouldn’t support bombing the people he wants to see freed. I don’t agree with him, but to say he’s supports hatred and death to Iraqi’s is simply a lie. And he criticizes Bush consistently.

Yes, Hitchens has valid reasons, valid evil reasons. And I am sorry, he does blindly support Bush, for the most part. Maybe he wants to see Iraqis dead.

My point is he is as much of a hate preacher as the religious nut cases are. Of course he has the right to argue what he wants, that doesn’t (as you very honestly put it) mean they are right.

If he had his hand on the trigger, he will push the button to nuke the Middle East.

Albeit he is a smart man, but with a very ugly evil twist.
