    I don’t think I’d …
I don’t think I’d have the patience to host this show. The amazing thing is that this is one of the more rational callers that they have, in that he is attempting (hopelessly) to use evidence. I don’t have the patience to deal with the kind of ignorance they have to talk with.

How many of you have pet birds? Everyone who does, has a pet dinosaur. Religion doesn’t automatically cause stupidity, but it sure as enables it.

    I like how they …
I like how they always claim that other religions claims of miracles can not be backed up with evidence like christianity can.

    I officially make …
I officially make the claim that I have seen fire that turned things into fruit-roll-ups when it burned them. If the Christian in this video reads my comment he should in theory believe me.

Eh no because in 2 …
Eh no because in 2 thousand years, even in a million years (if we’re still around) we will still know that E.T is a movie and a fictional movie at that.

    I’m glad that Matt …
I’m glad that Matt finally drove home the point that the claims of miracles in holy scripture are not just your usual accounts of everyday events, they are accounts of events, of phenomena, that have never been shown to happen in any demonstrable or measurable way, therefore they require substantially more conclusive evidence.

    I’m surprised that …
I’m surprised that Kabane didn’t explain that with the population that Jesus supposedly surrounded himself with that if what has happened according to the Bible was a lie then people would trash it quickly and wouldn’t have made it this far.

haha, I can just imagine that area becoming a shrine or a huge temple. Of course, donations are welcome… to feed the poor and saving the children you know? E.T. would approve.

By the time of 4009 …
By the time of 4009, a religion would have spawned and its holy symbol would be that of a disembodied glowing finger. In their churches, worshipers chant the following holy words while point up into the sky:

    “Ouch…., Ouch….” and
    “E.T. Phone Home”

    Amen.

    In the year 4009, …
In the year 4009, there will be gullible people that think E.T. was real based on photographic evidence. The people of that future were able to prove historically that the film was directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Melissa Mathison, who has written in other sources about the making of them film. THUS, the events that took place in California in the film MUST have happened.

See? Same reasoning as the christian, but to us, present people, we find that obviously bogus. Give it time. =/

    5:42 “it’s not there”
WHAT’S NOT THERE? you mean there are no miracles in other religions. like magic underwear, flat world on elephants’ backs? same amount of evidence, different bullshit. that christian guy was so full of it

    Yeah, I wasn’t …
Yeah, I wasn’t saying you were wrong. Just letting you know science isn’t all assumptions. And no, you wouldn’t assume. You would refer to the “Theory of Gravity”. You would KNOW gravity would be there. It is tested, and proven. No assumption there.

    so if you were …
so if you were working in physics you don’t need to assume the laws of gravity are going to hold true and factor that into your work?

    1) an assumption or …
    1) an assumption or concession made for the sake of argument b : an interpretation of a practical situation or condition taken as the ground for action
    2) a tentative assumption made in order to draw out and test its logical or empirical consequences

Theories and conclusions are not assumptions, however. They are reasoned judgements based on facts and observable evidence. Science is not based on assumption if that is your point. That is why there is a special word for assumptions.
