   christianity, yes. i dont think with athiesm.

   edit: if you are Christian you can hide behind something or create a shield through justifying whatever you do through interpretations of biblical passages and what not which is what a lot of people do. They basically interpret the bible to mean whatever they want it to mean. As for a shield, they do close their minds to other possiblities of course since it is their belief & only belief…that is the equivalent of shielding themselves from other ideas & things in the world

   Sure. For example, a Christian could ignore whatever poor decisions they make in life by saying everything happens for a reason, instead of learning from their errors by reflection.

   I am not an atheist or a Christian, and I do not hide behind my beliefs.

   It is very difficult to hide behind non-beliefs in gods. There is literally no beliefs to hide behind. There is no postulated dogma.

   Yes, I use my atheism to shield myself when the Christians throw rocks at me for not believing and doing as they preach

   I think that it is more possible to use atheism to hide behind. That way they wont have to feel accountable for anything by saying, there is no sin. What is truth? We are all here because of a big chance mistake.

    you can hide all you want from whatever. but sooner or later. You are going to have to show yourself and defend your belief. One can only hide so long, behind their religion, or atheisim. But eventully, the truth will be dicovered. Because somewhere along the line. you will contridict yourself. And the trap will be set. Sooner or later you will have to admit to something. Then the truth will be found.
